1. Reality of Wrestling champion Mysterious Q wrestled AML champ Greek God Papadon to a ten minute time limit draw.
Jim Cornette came out with AML/NWA tag champs the Heatseekers. He put them over for winning the Cornette Tag Team Cup, and introduced them to their opponents for tonight.
2. AML/NWA tag champs the Heatseekers defeated The American Wolves. One of the Heatseekers hit Edwards with Jim Cornette’s tennis racket while the ref was distracted for the win.
3. CW Anderson pinned 2 Cold Scorpio.
4. Shelton Benjamin beat Ken Anderson (w/Armando Alejandro Estrada) 2-1 in a best of three falls match.
5. Team ODB (ODB, Tessa Blanchard, and Taeler Hendricks) beat Team Havok (Havok, Barbi Hayden, and Amber O’Neal/Gallows) in a six-woman tag match when ODB pinned Amber.
5. GFW Nex*Gen champ Sonjay Dutt defeated Matt Sydal with a top rope splash.
6. Gunner beat Luke Hawx in a steel cage match by escaping through the cage door. This was the best match of the night. By the end both men were bloodied up. Insane spot when Hawx hit Gunner with a blockbuster off the top of the cage.
7. EC3 won a battle royal to earn a future AML Title shot after last eliminating Raj Singh (f/k/a Jinder Mahal). Other notable entrants included Colt Cabana, Shane Douglas, Ernest Miller, Blue Meanie, Glacier, and Jimmy Valiant.
8. John Morrison pinned PJ Black after hitting Starship Pain.
9. Jeff Jarrett (w/Karen Jarrett) defeated Matt Hardy to win the WrestleCade Championship. This match was a mess. Jarrett and Hardy brawled outside the ring and into the crowd. The bell rang, apparently signifying a double count-out. The ring announcer made no mention of what was going on. The match continued as a No DQ match (I guess?). Karen threw chairs into the ring. Hardy set two of them up in the middle of the ring but was ultimately superplexed through them by Jarrett. After a guitar shot, an EC3 run-in, and Jarrett’s forward Russian leg sweep, Jarrett pinned Hardy to capture the title.
This was my first WrestleCade and I couldn’t recommend it highly enough to people who live in traveling distance of Winston-Salem. The FanFest was an unforgettable experience with so many wrestling heroes from the past and present. It was a LONG day, but worth every minute and every penny.
