Yesterday was the 26th anniversary of the death of El Santo so there are a lot of articles and many of tributes paid to his memory.
Mistico gave an interview with Super Luchas on Tuesday in Guadalajara and he reaffirmed to his fans that he is still the same Mistico, it’s just that he has a problem with Volador Jr. who thinks that he is the true “Rey del Aire” aka King of the Air. Mistico said that he is neither a rudo or tecnicho but a man of the people and his mission is to give them what they want and he knows that Arena Mexico is divided between him & Volador Jr. with a lot of fans upset at him for being rough towards him but it is what it is and they must accept this version of Mistico. Mistico said that Averno was his partner only in the Torneo Nacional Parejas and that was it nothing more nothing less because his name alone means more than any faction in Mexico so why would he lower himself to join Los Hijos del Averno. Mistico then declared the Super Sky Team dead because of Volador’s jealousy of him saying that in the grouping of them & La Sombra, there was no leader and they were free to do what they wanted but came together as one in matches. Mistico said that Volador’s negativity is hard to adapt with so he is through with him but would like to keep on teaming with La Sombra if he wants to continue teaming with him.

AAA 2/5 – Gimnasio Ignacio Manuel AltaMirano de la BUAP de Puebla (TV taping)
1. Mascarita Sagrada/Mini Charly Manson/Mini Chessman beat Mini Abismo Negro/Mini Histeria/Mini Psicosis by DQ.
2. Atomic Boy/Lasser Boy/Zumbi defeated Angel Mortal/Gran Apache/Mantra – The big point here was the debut of Lasser Boy fresh off the AAA movie and Parka Jr. came out with his co-star and they danced before the match.
3. The Black Family (Cuervo/Escoria/Espiritu/Ozz) beat Los Vipers Revolucion (Amnesia/Black Abyss/Histeria/Psicosis) in basically a squash match as the Family destroyed the Vipers making them bleed using steel chairs and won in quick time.
4. Chessman/Alex Koslov/Zorro defeated Alan Stone/Elegido/Pimpinela Escarlata after Konnan interfered allowing Zorro to use the Singapore cane on Pimpi who was stretchered out.
5. Wagnermania (Dr. Wagner Jr./Electroshock/Silver King) beat Latin Lover/El Mesias/La Parka Jr. when Electro pinned Parka with a fast count by Hijo del Tirantes. Electro then demanded after the match that he be inserted into the upcoming Mesias/Lover match for the AAA Mega Heavyweight Title presumably at Rey de Reyes.
CMLL 2/5 – Arena Mexico
1. Leono & Tony Rivera beat Durango Kid & Inquisidor
2. Princesa Blanca/Princesa Sugei/Raven Hiroka defeated Estrella Magica/Lluvia/Marcela
3. Lightning Match: Hijo del Fantasma beat Rey Bucanero by DQ when Rey ripped off Fantasma’s mask.
4. Blue Panther/Hector Garza/Shocker defeated Damian el Terrible/Los Sicarios del Infierno (Averno y Mephisto)
5. Torneo Parejas Nacionales – Finals: Mascara Dorada & Atlantis (Jalisco) beat La Mascara & Negro Casas (Distrito Federal)
6. Volador Jr. defeated Mistico – This had all kinds of mask ripping and mask changes and aggression before Volador used the Mistica to go over in the end. They will have a rematch next week for the Mexican National Lt. Heavyweight Title.
