L.A. Par-KL.A. Par-K was interviewed by Reforma on Monday and he said that even though he was awarded the name La Parka by Dorian Roldan, he is going to continue to be called L.A. Par-K because he has been very successful with the name and there is no reason to change. Par-K stated that he doesn’t care if Parka Jr. still uses the name and the costume either way because everyone knows the truth. Par-K said that he feels like more of a tougher and rougher wrestler with his current name as the other name was more of a entertainer. Par-K said that defeating the other La Parka served three purposes in that he was able to recover the name, show the new fans who is the real one, and that he is so good he doesn’t even need to use the name. Par-K talked about how important the name was because people have been confused for years on who was the true Parka with some fans calling him the impostor saying that he was too fat but now that he has won the battle, this is now obsolete. Par-K said that after 14 years of legal issues and loss of sleep over the matter it is now moot and he said that he actually cried in the ring after being declared the winner by Dorian Roldan. Par-K went on to say that he would like to return to AAA again and also thanked Los Perros del Mal for their support because over the past couple of years, they have always stuck by him when other promoters wouldn’t.
But there is one problem
The Distrito Federal Box y Lucha Commission officialy announced yesterday that the ruling of the Battle of the Parkas is officially a no contest due to the interference by the Roldan’s & Los Perros del Mal. Jorge Gomez Garnica who was the commissioner at the show said that referee Copetes Salazar was unconscious and was outside the ring thus he missed everything that happened and that Hijo del Tirantes ran out to make the count after Par-K used a Martinete on Parka Jr. thus giving him the match. Garnica said that Hijo del Tirantes’ entry into the match doesn’t count and that it was a no contest thus both men have the claim to their names still with legal regulations to back it up. Garnica was asked why is the commission doing this when finishes like this have happened many times in the past and he said that this was on a large stage so it had a higher visibility than your average show and this was the main event of the show so this very important to get right.
L.A. Par-K said yesterday that this was like a bomb dropped on him and he is calling this a dirty trick by the commission who has had problems with him over the years. Par-K said that the fans know what the deal is and they won’t accept this since they saw him win the match with their own eyes and 16,000 can’t be wrong. Dorian Roldan was asked about this and he said that he is thinking about bringing the match back to appease the commission
Oriental is the latest to leave Los Perros del Mal and will be rejoining CMLL on 6/13 at Arena Mexico.
