CMLL held a press conference yesterday announcing the main event for their 77th Anniversary Show at Arena Mexico on 9/3 and it will be a 10 man steel cage match where the loser will unmask featuring these participants:

Mistico
La Sombra
Alebrije
Averno
Ephesto
Histeria
Mephisto
Olimpico
Psicosis
Volador Jr.

They also announced a special Bicentennial tournament starting on 9/7 featuring all rudos then on 9/10 with all tecnicos with the finals taking place on 9/17 and all shows will be at Arena Mexico basically with the 9/17 show being anniversary part deux.

Also from the press conference they announced that Averno, Hijo del Texano, & Mephisto will get new title belts with the name being CMLL Historic Lt. Heavyweight, Middleweight, & Welterweight titles and the old belts were being retired.
La Peste Negra has expanded as Rey Bucanero is now the 4th member of the group telling everyone that he has left Los Guerreros because they wanted Olimpico to return and he didn’t. Mr. Niebla then mentioned that his body rejected the original implant he had in his knee so he had to get additional surgery to replace it.

RESULTS

CMLL 8/13 – Arena Mexico
1. Molotov & Sensei beat Disturbio & Durango Kid by DQ when Durango ripped off Sensei’s mask.
2. Demus 3:16/Pequeno Warrior/Pierrothito defeated Astral/Mascarita Dorada/Ultimo Dragoncito
3. Mr. Aguila/Charly Manson/Hector Garza beat La Peste Negra (Felino/Negro Casas/Rey Bucanero) when Garza pinned Negro who was arguing with Tirantes for refusing to make a count when he had a Casita on Garza.
4. Cuadrangular de Tercias – Semifinals: Dragon Rojo/Mr. Niebla/Volador Jr. defeated La Triada del Terror (Averno/Ephesto/Mephisto) and Niebla kissed Volador on the mouth somewhere during this match as a welcome to the rudo side.
5. Cuadrangular de Tercias – Semifinals: La Mascara/Mascara Dorada/Mistico beat Atlantis/Olimpico/Ultimo Guerrero by DQ when Histeria & Psicosis attacked Mistico with Tirantes calling for the DQ. Atlantis & UG were pissed at Olimpico after the match for his buddies interfering so he joined his buddies in attacking them. Atlantis & UG then demanded to be in the steel cage main event at the anniversary show to get some revenge.
6. Cuadrangular de Tercias – Finals: Dragon Rojo/Mr. Niebla/Volador Jr. defeated La Mascara/Mascara Dorada/Mistico when Niebla cutback a Casita by Mistico using the ropes to get the pin. Mistico then demanded that Niebla put his name in the cage match as well but Niebla said that he would rather take Mistico’s mask in a singles match.
7. CMLL Universal Title Tournament – Finals: Jushin Thunder Liger beat La Sombra to win the title in what sounded like an awesome match where Sombra had his coming out party going move for move with Liger. Shigeo Okumura was with Liger at ringside and distracted Babe Richard so that Liger the opportunity to take off Sombra’s mask and pinned him. Sombra then demanded a mask match with Liger afterwards.


IWRG 8/12 – Arena Naucalpan
1. Tonatiuh beat Guerrero Dos Mil
2. Dinamic Black & Super Halcon Jr. defeated Carta Brava Jr. & Nemesis
3. Chico Che/Eragon/Miss Gaviota beat Comando Negro/Impossible/Magia Negra
4. Christina von Eerie & Sexy Star defeated Fabi y Mari Apache when Fabi complained about a Reyes Rosas slow count so when Sexy cradled her up, he gave her a fast count. That’s a common finish these days.
5. Los Oficiales (AK-47/Fierro/Marshall/911) beat Gringo Loco/Hijo del Diablo/Alex Koslov/NOSAWA (subbing for Avisman who was there wearing a neckbrace) after Diablo accidentally hit Gringo. Fierro then gave Avisman a Martinete after the match for his trouble.
