NEWS

El Patron (Alberto del Rio) opened Triplemania tonight with his father Dos Caras and he gave a scathing speech about the WWE and the monster he encountered called racism but didn’t go into any other details before Konnan and his cronies came out to confront him leading to El Patron running them out of the ring.

El Brazo & Rayo de Jalisco Sr. were both inducted in the AAA Hall of Fame tonight at Triplemania which I must have missed all of those Rayo Sr. matches in AAA. Rayo Jr. was there of course to accept on behalf of his father. Perro Aguayo Jr. came out and ran down Rayo which led to a battle before Blue Demon Jr. helped Rayo run out the Perros.

The big news of the show actually came after the main event where Rey Misterio Jr. sent in a taped video talking about starting in AAA and then the feed went off so we don’t really know what all he said afterwards.

Jeff Jarrett & Ricochet both missed Triplemania tonight due to issues with their airline providers and both apologized on Twitter. Jarrett said that he never missed a show in 28 years because of travel problems.

BONUS FREDO NOTE: AAA’s Triplemania iPPV had a ton of issues. I stopped watching because it wouldn’t go beyond 30 seconds before buffering. I’ll try watching the VOD later on and hopefully that will work.

RESULTS

AAA 8/17 – Arena Ciudad de Mexico del Distrito Federal (Triplemania XXII)
1. Aero Star/Jennifer Blake/Mascarita Sagrada/Pimpinela Escarlata beat Super Fly/Sexy Star/Mini Abismo Negro/Black Mamba
2. Torneo por el AAA Cruiserweight Title/AAA FUSION Campeonato: Hijo del Fantasma defeated Angelico to win the titles. Order of Elimination: Drago (subbing for Ricochet)/Jack Evans/Joe Lider/Australian Suicide/Bengala/Pentagon Jr./Fenix/Daga/Angelico – This sounded like a total spotfest and Bengala was stretchered out.
3. Por el Reina de Reinas: Taya Valkyrie beat Fabi Apache to win the title in a match full of screwiness with Sexy Star, Hijo del Fantasma, & Hijo del Tirantes.
4. Steel Cage Match where the loser must get shaved or unmasked: El Mesias left Electroshock in the ring to get shaved and Mesias subbed for Jeff Jarrett. Order of Elimination: La Parka Jr./Averno/Blue Demon Jr./Chessman/El Mesias. This was a total bloodbath full of wild spots including Mesias jumping off the cage and Electro’s white outfit turning blood red.
5. Mascara contra Caballera: Psycho Clown defeated Hijo del Texano in another bloodbath full of table spots and unprotected chair shots to the head. There was a funny spot here where during some runins El Fantasma who is a commissioner in the DF had to kick out his own son. Texano got his head shaved in the ring afterwards.

6. 4 Way Dance por la Copa Triplemania XXII: Perro Aguayo Jr. beat Myzteziz after a foul to win the Copa. This was another match filled with blood as Doc’s bad shoulder injury got reopened and Myzteziz juiced like crazy. Cibernetico chokeslammed Wagner to eliminate him then he got eliminated by a Mistica. After the match, El Patron came out and got into a brawl with Perrito where he used his jujigatame before Perrito ducked out. The show ended with Patron as the conquering hero.

1. Dr. Freezer beat Relampago Azul
2. El Idolo defeated Acertijo

4. Esfinge & Exterminador defeated Malefico & El Yaqui
5. Zeuxis beat Lluvia
6. El Barbaro Cavernario/El Terrible/Rey Hechicero defeated Cachorro/Dragon Lee II/Volador Jr. by DQ due to excessive violence.

CMLL 8/17 – Arena Mexico
1. Cholo & Inquisidor beat Flyer & Metatron
2. Delta/Guerrero Maya Jr./Starman (replacing an injured Oro Jr.) defeated Kamaitachi/Metalico/Shigeo Okumura with Metalico wearing the Pepe el Toro outfit from the Pedro Infante movies.
3. Misterioso II/Pierroth/Sagrado beat Blue Panther/Diamante Azul/Maximo
4. Lightning Match: Dragon Rojo defeated Polvora
5. Mexican National Trios Titles: La Peste Negra (Felino/Negro Casas/Mr. Niebla) beat Mascara Dorada/Stuka Jr./Valiente to retain their titles.
6. Gran Guerrero/Rey Escorpion/Ultimo Guerrero defeated Los Ingobernales (La Mascara/Rush/La Sombra) by DQ when Rush fouled UG.

Il est annoncé que Jeff Jarrett et Ricochet ne pourront être présents ce soir du fait de problèmes avec leurs avions.

Vampiro était à la table des commentateurs anglais. Apparemment lui et l’autre commentateur n’ont pas été informés en début de show que leurs micros étaient ouverts et ont notamment évoqué ce qui allait se passer durant le show.

El Patron ( Alberto Del Rio) ouvre le show accompagné de son père Dos Caras Sr. Il fait son entrée sur son theme song de la WWE. Il dit qu’aux USA, il a rencontré un monstre appelé Racisme. Il est interrompu par Konnan accompagné de plusieurs membres du clan rudo de la Nueva Sociedad. C’est au tour de Perro Aguayo Jr de faire une promo où il désigne notamment John Cena et Daniel Bryan comme fake contrairement à lui. El Patron indique qu’il n’a pas le droit d’avoir de match pendant 90 jours, mais cela ne l’empêche pas de pouvoir se battre. L’ex-WWE sort alors les rudos du ring.

Atomicos Match
Aerostar, Jennifer Blake, Pimpinela Escarlata et Mascarita Sagrada def. Super Fly, Sexy Star, Mamba et Mini Abismo Negro

Mascarita Sagrada fait le tombé victorieux sur l’autre Minis du match, Mini Abismo Negro.

10-Way Elimination Match – AAA Cruiserweight Championship
Hijo del Fantasma def. Daga (c), Jack Evans, Angelico, Australian Suicide, Bengala, Fenix, Joe Lider, Pentagon Jr et Drago

Le AAA Fusion Championship de Fenix a été fusionné au titre Cruiserweight lors de ce match. Drago a remplacé Ricochet.

Le Streaming officiel a rencontré des problèmes durant le match et n’a pas permis de voir les premiers éliminés.

Elimination 4: Australian Suicide par Pentagon Jr
Elimination 5: Bengala par Fenix (Bengala sembe s’être blessé au passage)
Elimination 6: Pentagon Jr par Fenix
Elimination 7: Fenix par Daga
Elimination 8: Daga par Angelico
Elimination 9: Angelico par El Hijo del Fantasma

Après le match, Hijo del Fantasma va dans le public pour célébrer avec sa famille. Son père l’accompagne pour son retour dans le ring. Hijo del Fantasma se voit remettre la ceinture Cruiserweight qui a été refaite pour l’occasion. Il se retrouve du coup avec 3 ceintures: la nouvelle, l’ancienne et celle du titre Fusion. L’arbitre en général désavantage Apache avec des slow counts. Apache lui porte accidentellement un Dropkick et le met KO. Sexy Star en profite pour venir l’attaquer. El Hijo del Fantasma fait alors son retour et ramène Sexy Star en coulisse.

Le défunt El Brazo, mort en octobre dernier, est intronisé au AAA Hall of Fame.

AAA Reina de Reinas Championship
Taya Valkyrie (w. Sexy Star) def. Fabi Apache (w. Drago) (c)

Vampiro a trouvé le moyen de citer le nom de l’arbitre rudo de la CMLL au lieu de celui de la AAA. La canadienne Valkyrie a saigné du nez pendant le match. Alors qu’Apache faisait un tombé, l’arbitre l’a éloigné pour venir voir le nez de Valkyrie.

Rayo de Jalisco Sr est introduit au AAA Hall of Fame. Il n’est pas présent mais son fils, Rayo de Jalisco Jr, l’est. La Nueva Sociedad (la branche Perros Del Mal plus précisemment, celle dirigée par Perro Aguayo Jr) vient attaquer le nouvel introduit. Blue Demon Jr vient faire le sauvetage.

Domo de la Muerte – Mascara/Cabellera Match
Electroshock perd contre Averno, Blue Demon Jr, La Parka, Chessman et El Mesias

Sortie de la cage 1: La Parka

Du fait de la stipulation, Electroshock a eu la tête rasée. Jeff Jarrett a été remplacé dans ce match par le revenant El Mesias. Ce dernier, absent jusque-là depuis janvier sur blessure, a fini le match en 1 contre 1 avec Electroshock et est donc considéré comme celui qui a pris la chevelure du perdant.

El Mesias propose une poignée de main à Electroshock qui se fait raser la tête. Bien que tecnico (tout comme El Mesias), Electroshock le frappe. Un début de brawl éclate entre les deux.

Averno a fait un clin d’œil à Jarrett en amenant avec lui sur le ring la fameuse guitare. Vampiro, toujours autant dépassé, ne s’est rendu compte qu’au milieu du match que Jarrett n’était pas présent. Il a également confondu La Parka avec celui qu’il a côtoyé du temps de la WCW (L.A Park).

Mascara contra Cabellera
Psycho Clown (w. Mini Clown) def. Texano Jr (w. El Hijo de Fantasma)

Monster Clown (muni d’une chaise) et un commissionner sont venus pendant le match et ont remplacé l’arbitre rudo par un arbitre neutre. Fantasma Sr est venu empêcher son fils d’intervenir davantage. Psycho Clown l’emporte après un Canadian Destroyer sur une table.

Texano Jr a essayé de fuir avant de se faire couper les cheveux avant de revenir et de prendre lui-même les ciseaux. Il serre ensuite la main de Psycho Clown (tecnico turn ?).

Copa Triplemania XXII
Perro Aguayo Jr def. Myzteziz, Dr Wagner Jr et Cibernetico

Elimination 1: Dr Wagner Jr
Elimination 2: Cibernetico
Elimination 3: Myzteziz (après un coup bas)

El Patron vient confronter Perro Aguayo Jr après le match. Un brawl éclate entre les deux. El Patron prend le dessus puis les Perros Del Mal viennent sauver leur leader.

Alors que le streaming avait été coupé, une vidéo de Rey Mysterio Jr a été diffusée où il souhaite un joyeux anniversaire à la AAA et dit espérer y revenir très bientôt.
