NOTICIASL.A. Park made his return to Arena Mexico for the first time since the 75th Anniversario show in 2008 where he & Dr. Wagner Jr. got themselves fired for fighting outside the ring in the crowd one too many times after being warned by EMLL and both were immediately put on the infamous Paco Alonso blacklist. The match was banned from TV and both men haven’t been seen in Arena Mexico since but last night after a surprise was promised, the promotion actually delivered with Park & his son Hijo del L.A. Park coming out and Park challenging anyone to come out and fight him which no one did. Park of course has been out of action for around 2 months due to his peritonitis which caused part of his intestines to be removed and just this week he went on Tercera Caida to say that he might not return to action until next year. Park & Dr. Wagner Jr. have been pretty much tied together since the ban went in place as they worked everywhere together and just yesterday it was announced by ALL ELITE that they had booked Park & Wagner as the final two missing men for their shows on 11/13 at Arena Puebla and 11/15 at Arena Coliseo which of course are buildings owned by EMLL so that was a sign there. This is definitely something to watch out for.
The EMLL show at Arena Mexico last night had a Dia de Muertos theme of course and the rudos along with referees wore traditional Mexican skulls or scary masks while they were being lead by “Mictlan” who is the leader of the undead and he was commanding them during the show before revealing himself as Ultimo Guerrero.
Also last night at Arena Mexico, the Lawrence O’Brien trophy which is given to the NBA champions every year was in attendance and even was put in the ring for a ceremony while the trophy is on a world tour.
In my favorite news story in a long while, the owners of Arena Solidaridad has decided to rename the building Arena Jose Suliaman in honor of the kingpin of the World Boxing Council and one of the most controversial figures in that sport’s history. I used the word kingpin for reasons that he runs that sanctioning body like a mafia.
