AAA Vice President Dorian Roldan officially announced yesterday on Twitter that Verano de Escandalo would be taking place on 6/14 at Arena Monterrey and would feature Rey Mysterio Jr.’s return to Monterrey.

One of the all-time great exoticos and also one of the early ones to do the gimmick in Rudy Reyna passed away early Monday morning from complications from diabetes. He had been in bad shape for quite a while and my good friend Alfredo Esparza at Lucha World did a great job recollecting about his career here.

Speaking of exoticos, Cassandro worked the show in El Paso last Sunday which I posted the results for on Monday after a tough week where he suffered what was described as a minor stroke which led to him having a car wreck about 10 days ago.

Victoria Cerveza held a big press conference yesterday touting their involvement with the Lucha Libre World Cup and Lucha Libre in general with lots of AAA guys there and more notably Hijo del Santo who was in full gimmick along with his WBC title belt. This is notable because of the serious issues between Santo and AAA but the only pictures of Santo from the show are with him & Blue Demon Jr. together not the normal AAA guys.
