NOTICIASAAA held a press conference today along with Victoria Cerveza to officially announce the teams and rules for the Lucha Libre World Cup on 5/24. The rules are a single elimination tournament with a 15:00 time limit where if there is a draw there will be an overtime. There will also be a judging panel consisting of Canek & Los Hermanos Dinamita (Cien Caras & Mascara Ano Dos Mil) with them deciding the best match and best luchador. There will also be an English and Spanish iPPV with Matt Striker & Vampiro doing the English announcing. AAA Executive Vice President Dorian Roldan was asked about participation from EMLL and he said that they were definitely asked to be part of it but they declined. He hopes that one day they can work together in the future. The teams for the World Cup are as follows

New Japan announced yesterday that El Barbaro Cavernario will be working this year’s Best of the Super Juniors tournament which is probably the reason why Cavernario has been taken off shows to heal his recent injuries.
There is some questions about EMLL’s status on FOX Sports 2 in Mexico as they haven’t been on the schedule lately and that was the way that the locals could see what happened on Fridays at Arena Mexico and right now they have no other outlet. Basically what that means is the only way they can see those matches is to tune into Azteca America on Saturdays or search for them online.
