NOTICIASSince I have been absent from doing the Lucha Report since La Sombra officially signed with WWE, I don't feel the need to rehash everything that has already been reported but I will mention this. La Sombra's exit from Mexico to the WWE is as harmonious as you will ever see as he did everything the right way on his out. Sombra did clean jobs across the board while working his ass off at every moment he needed to. EMLL went out of their way to praise him for his time in their promotion and how he exited as well so you can best believe that if the day comes that Sombra wants to come home, he will have his spot waiting for him. Also, Sombra is living his dream of competing in the WWE and on a personal note since he has been one of my favorites since he arrived on the scene going back to Monterrey some 10 years ago, I sincerely hope that he is able to achieve his dream to the fullest and someday become a WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
AAA Owner Marisela Pena had some interesting things to say on Tuesday when asked about El Caristico & Cibernetico leaving for LUCHA LIBRE ELITE. Marisela said that luchadores come and go all the time but AAA will always be the most powerful promotion in Mexico. She did wish them luck even though she didn't like the way the left the promotion as they never told anyone their plans and that one day they will reap what they have sown. Marisela said that the name Myzteziz belongs to AAA and that it may be used one day but not right now. When asked about Cibernetico directly, Marisela paused and said that she believed her silence said it all but there will be more details given soon about their plans on handling his departure.
Speaking of Cibernetico, he was part of a press conference for LUCHA LIBRE ELITE on Wednesday at Arena Mexico and he said that he thought he would be in AAA for the rest of his career but there has been a difference of opinions lately between him and some others about where the promotion was going and he said that he needed to go somewhere else. Cibernetico then talked about a rumored contract with AAA which they have floated out that he has violated but he said that he has never signed any such contract and if they have one then they need to produce it. He said that he was very upset with them for not allowing him to fulfill his contracted house show dates as he felt like the fans in those towns didn't get to see him. Cibernetico confirmed that he owns his name and that they couldn't stop him from using it like they have done with others that have left the promotion over the years. When asked about others leaving AAA, Cibernetico said that definitely there are more that are going to join him because there are others that are tired of the egomaniacs running the show there. Ciber was then asked about his new home in ELITE and said that it has been a dream of his to compete in Arena Mexico and that they have some high quality wrestlers such as Atlantis, Mistico II, Rush, & Ultimo Guerrero and that he wants to face them all. Ciber said that his future goal is to one day win the CMLL Heavyweight Title so he could be the only man to hold the AAA Mega Heavyweight Title, CMLL Heavyweight Title, & UWA Heavyweight Title but right now his contract is with ELITE not EMLL and that even though they are aligned, they aren't the same.
