NEWSEAW Promoter Eduardo Soto in a shocking move didn’t pay any of the talent that worked the EAW shows that were held in Acapulco & Chilpancingo on 7/17 & 7/18 telling the talent there were wasn’t any profits made on the shows and told them that he was headed to Sonora to get some money to pay the debts including lodging for the talent which they eventually had to pay out of their own pockets. Talent wasn’t the only ones screwed by this as the technical staff and even reporters were stiffed and to top it all off, there was supposed to be a EAW show at the Lucha Libre Expo last weekend but there was no promoter or no 2 ring setup for the show so it was cancelled. There is more to this I’m sure.
Manuel Robles and his son Benjamin Mar who promote shows at Arena Puebla stated yesterday to SporTimes which is a local Puebla paper that the biggest problem facing lucha libre today isn’t WWE or even MMA but it is the scalpers and the guys who pirate merchandise. Manuel started promoting in 1982 and said that he hasn’t seen anything like this before with the fans illegally pirating and it’s hard to fight back because if you get rid of one another comes along to take their place. The promoters said that they book their cards about one or two weeks in advance depending on what else is going on in Mexico City and that they are open to renting out the building to promoters of other combat sports such as boxing & MMA even they can work a deal.

5. Damian el Terrible/Hector Garza/Hijo del Texano beat La Mascara/Mascara Dorada/La Sombra and the rudos demanded a shot at the tecnicos’ CMLL Trios Titles afterwards.
