After a year and a half of waiting by people that actually care, CMLL officially created their new Mistico today with Dragon Lee officially unmasking and being anoited by Fray Tormenta as the new Mistico. This is a pretty controversial decision as Dragon Lee is a polarizing figure among the internet lucha fan community although not as much as his brother Rush. The story was that Fray Tormenta was in Dragon’s corner last Friday at Arena Mexico and was so impressed with his ability that he offered him the chance of a lifetime to become the new The announcement was preceeded by the promotion bringing out the four En Busca de un Idolo semifinalists where Dragon Lee finished third behind Titan & Euforia who will battle it out on Friday at Arena Mexico to determine the winner. Whoever wins that match will get a grand prize of an all expenses paid trip to Cancun, a free one-year membership at a gym, a spot on the New Japan tour next January, movement up the cards, and a shot at the CMLL title in their weight class which is kinda funny because the guy they finished ahead of has already become a bigger star than them.

Other news from the CMLL press conference was that they are going to have a 10 woman steel cage match where the loser must shave her head or unmask featuring Dalis la Caribena/Dark Angel/Estrellita/Goya Kong/Marcela/Amapola/Lady Apache/Princesa Blanca/La Seductora/Tiffany.

Yujiro Takahashi & Damian el Terrible were there talking up their CMLL Heavyweight Title match on Sunday at Arena Coliseo with Yujiro bringing out some tacos as an insult. This also led to Shigeo Okumura challenging Terrible to a masks/hair match with the Japanese against TRT.

Maximo will be heading to New Japan in July for a tour.

Negro Casas had surgery to fix his vision which was caused by a bad bump he took in the last couple of weeks that gave him blurry vision and he will be out of action for about a month.

AAA announced yesterday that they would be bringing back the Alebrije character to TV soon which will be the first time since the original one left for CMLL in 2010. Alebrije II will have the new Cuije in his corner as always.

3. Amapola/Lady Afrodita/La Seductora beat Dalis la Caribena/Luna Magica/Marcela who lost the match to Seductora with help from Tirantes and she agreed to defend her CMLL Femenil Title next week against Seductora.
4. Angel de Oro/Atlantis/Blue Panther defeated Black Warrior/Olimpico/Psicosis by DQ when El Black ripped off Atlantis’ mask.
5. CMLL Trios Titles: La Tercia Sensacion (Marco Corleone/Maximo/Rush) beat Los Nuevos Guerreros (Dragon Rojo/Rey Escorpion/Ultimo Guerrero) to retain their titles.
