Derrick Bateman, de son vrai nom Micheal Hutter, était récemment en interview avec The Ropes pour discuter de son parcours à la WWE et de la suite de sa carrière. Pour Hutter les différences entre le réseau de développement actuel et le système territorial est que le territorial est bénéfique pour les nouveaux lutteurs, toutes les légendes l'affirment. Presque tous les soirs, les nouveaux pouvaient travailler avec une personne différente de la veille et à chaque nouveau lieu, un nouveau style à apprendre. Maintenant pour lui, ils essaient de reproduire cela avec le système actuel mais cela est impossible.

Hutter poursuit en parlant de la diffusion simultanée de NXT et de ToughEnough. Pour lui c'était une émission pour Stone Cold, il pouvait réprimander les apprentis et faire le show, cela donnait un côté frais au programme. Mais une autre part en lui pensait que pendant que certains étaient à la Télé, lu il était à NXT Redemption, travaillant dur et qu'il ne verrait sans doute jamais les lumières des projecteurs de télévision. Cela peut être très décourageant.

Sur son renvoi le mois dernier, Hutter explique que la WWE lui avait fait comprendre qu'ils n'avaient aucun plan pour lui, même s'il ne voit pas pourquoi c'était le cas. Mais en revanche, Hutter pense que ce renvoi est la meilleure des choses pour lui. Il ajoute qu'il était au mauvais endroit, mentalement et physiquement. L'ex Bateman termine en disant qu'il avait besoin d'une pause et que peut être il reviendra un jour...
